With Peter Cech, expect Arsenal to beat Everton

From Wayne : Petr Cech

Hi Myles,

Good to read your posts on Petr Cech’s impressive performances and Jeff’s new found tranquility in the face of an opposition attack.

Brian Talbot told me during games when he was chasing back alongside a goalbound striker with the ball at his feet, he would often encourage them to have a shot as the chances of getting one past the great Pat Jennings was really quite a remote one.

Petr Cech’s arrival has also coincided with a significant upturn in the form of Nacho Monreal.

Security from the back. At long last!

Could be top of the league after this weekend. Who’d have thunk it?

Myles says:

Not me!

Playing for Ipswich, Brian Talbot looked like an Arsenal player. They signed him and he was.

Spurs thought Pat Jennings was finished.  At Arsenal he made amazing saves with his feet that sometimes looked lucky. But the big Irishman knew exactly what he was doing and that became one of his  trademarks.

Some Gooners think Arsenal are two injuries away from meltdown.

Lukaku won’t worry Arsenal unless he gets the ball. He might not get the ball.

At 4.30 we’ll know whether Wenger has rested Alexis Sanchez completely for this game. He’s exhausted because he carries two teams. Should be protected from his burning desire to play 95 in every game.

Against Bayern, Sanchez made three mistakes which could have cost a goal. Never seen him do that before.

Everton are coming off a 3-0 thrashing by Man Utd last week.

They very rarely come to Arsenal and win.

Sure, Barkley is more productive now, less of an enigma, and Deulofeu is the most accurate crosser in the league. But I bet the stats don’t show that.
