My mate Mitch said yesterday that the World Cup has given him an appetite for the new Arsenal season.
I’m the opposite.
I need six weeks off football now, six weeks to re-discover other things that are more interesting, that have been neglected.
And I keep getting calls saying: Who are we gonna sign?
Haven’t been following the rumours.
And I wanted to avoid transfer rumours because I can’t top last summer, when I gave you Sol, Gio and Jeffers before anybody else.
I can’t top that hat-trick and I know you don’t expect me to top it.
However, my most reliable info is that Arsenal will sign Steve Carr from Tottenham for about £8 million, although Spurs were holding out for £12.
Whether AFC paid for Carr’s medical treatment in USA, as rumoured, I don’t know.
Cygan from Lille sounds good. But I have never seen him play.
Van Bommel wants to join Arsenal.
And Wenger had scouts watching every match he played for PSV last season.
Those are the three that I believe.
