Palace 0 Chelsea 1:Diego Costa’s header almost Osgoodian

I love centre forwards.

If you’ve got a world class centre forward, you don’t have to re-invent the wheel.

In 22, Costa clips Joe Ledley stupidly and gets his first yellow card in 11 games, so he misses Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

After 29 minutes Palace v Chelsea is the tightest game I’ve seen all season.

In fact, it’s so tight I’m wondering whether to give the second half a miss. Because I have some things to do that I can’t postpone any longer.

Ten minutes later I’m  wondering whether Pedro will come on for Willian after an hour and win it.

But I keep watching because I think Diego Costa is a crafty magician with a big box of little tricks.

Yes, Chelsea are pros who know who to stay in a game.

But they’ve shown no sign of being able to win this game.

In 44, Hazard then carries the ball doggedly, finds Azpilicueta in right midfield, and his world class cross is headed in by Diego Costa.

HT SCORE : Crystal Palace 0 Chelsea 1

Will Chelsea go nine points clear tonight?
