From William Marshall : best suggestions
Hi Myles,
How Arsenal can beat Bayern or Barca has become like an annual Xmas board game.
I read the spectrum of football dailies and the best suggestion is in The Mirror :”Get Lucky!”
The second best was also theirs : Copy a tactic Atletico used and ditch the ponderous Giroud.
Instead, deploy two speedy wingers up front to press, hassle and break.
Myles says:
Wenger won’t drop Giroud, William , because he’s the guy Ozil looks for.
If Petr Cech makes 5 world class saves, it might be 0-1 at half-time.
He can keep them in the game. Maybe.
The capture of Luis Suarez took Barcelona to another level because he is such a non-stop fiery gladiator.
If you play in the same team as Suarez, you can never take a day off, never take a night off, never take five minutes off, because you can see how much every run, shot and challenge means to him.
Last season’s treble winners are gifted, proud and consistent.
Suarez, Neymar and Messi have scored 91 goals this season.
But they won’t score more than three tonight.
One of Arsenal’s best players is the speedy Hector Bellerin, whose passes are as accurate as those of a very good forward.
Let’s hope Bellerin can attack down the right flank at times. That could be difficult. He’s never faced two players as quick as Jordi Alba and Neymar.
It was at 2013 Confederations Cup that I first realised how fast Neymar is.
Later on today, if I have any further thoughts on tonight’s big game, I’ll post them after 4pm.
