ANR replies : Many thanks for your varied and informative emails

There are some I’d like to publish.

But choosing from so many will be tricky. I’m quite busy and it could take a few days.

The “news” is that Cesc Fabregas says he will not go to Real Madrid yet, as it’s not the right time. Cesc is a smashing guy as well as a great player, and will not walk out anytime soon.

The papers keep running stories inspired by Red & White, saying that Usmanov is very keen to buy Lady Nina’s shares. If he bought her 15% that he would own 40% of Arsenal, a prospect which terrifies the majority of fans.

On transfers, I’m not sure about anything at the moment.

When Arsene says he will “definitely” sign one player, I think he means Amaury Bischoff, the 21-year old  Portuguese midfielder at Werder Bremen. He was injured for the whole of last season and we have read that his fee would be decided by a tribunal.

Back on July 1, Bischoff said, “Bremen was superb but Arsenal is a huge opportunity for me. Wenger has known me since my time at Strasbourg and believes in my quality.  He trusts me to be in the first team. Wenger has not put me under any pressure. He told me: ‘Take all the time you need.’ “

The only thing I’ve heard lately is that Newcastle’s Irish goalkeeper Shay Given had a meeting at Arsenal. That is the type of titbit I like to believe, as Given, 32, is still one of the top five keepers in the Premier League.
