Danny Murphy scored a superb goal for Arsenal.

As you know, Arsenal never score from free-kicks.

So it was wonderful to see Murphy score one for the Gunners.

Gary Neville? What a dunce!

He did a particularly stupid handball just outside the area.

Danny Murphy shot, Babbel ducked and the ball went into the bottom corner!41 minutes

Liverpool defended that lead until the final whistle after 94 minutes.

Sub Luke Chadwick’s red card was harsh. Smicer was tugging his shirt, not vice versa, before they tumbled.

Michael Owen was embarrassingly bad. If Owen plays against Arsenal it will be like having 12 men!

Murphy’s magic goal was the first scored by an Englishman against United this season. And the win was Gerard Houllier’s first against United.

The mighty Man United looked one-paced, pedestrian, uninventive.

Badly missing Cole, Yorke and Sheringham.

Westerveld had his easiest game of the season.

Only three saves – a Keane header, a weak Giggs poke, a decent near-post shot from Solskjaer.

Westerveld will be a LOT busier next Saturday when Arsenal come to Anfield !

PS The 17th of December will be Danny Murphy day in our house for the rest of this decade.

I’m so glad I saw that goal as it happened.

Came back from my Tai Chi class having missed the first 20 minutes of the Sky Super Sunday broadcast.

Settled into the game.

Saw the idiotic double-forearm handball by Gary Neville.

Right in the middle of the field, just outside the box.He would be a good centreback in a volleyball team.

And I said, “Danny Murphy’s not good enough to score from there.”

THEN HE SCORED !

YES!

DO I NOT MIND BEING WRONG!

Occasionally.
