From Mark S : Away Kit Reveal Fiasco
Happy Summer Myles!
After having one of the longest winters on record in Minnesota, summer is officially here!
You know that it’s summer by the inactivity of Arsenal in the transfer market. Each day I wake up and visit your site, Le Grove, Sky Sports, BBC Sports, and good old Arsenal.com, and every day I’m left shaking my head.
When will Arsene spend some f’ing money? Tuesday’s away kit reveal sent me over the edge.
Arsenal had been telling their fans that something “audacious” and “explosive” was going to take place at 15:30 GMT.
Would Higuain be revealed? Would Fellaini appear outside The Emirates in a bright yellow top? Would Cesc show up with a smile and striped socks? Maybe DB10’s statue would be unveiled to the public? All of these things would be both “explosive” and “audacious”!
Instead…instead…we saw 6 of Arsenal’s current “British core” front and center. We are told that the “British 6” are the future of Arsenal, but they are certainly no Vieira, Henry, Adams, Pires, Bergkamp, or Cole. If any of those “Old 6” had shown up on the stage arm in arm, I would have all the confidence in the world that we could challenge for silverware next year.
Instead King Arsene wants to sell us the future. Before the “British 6” there was RVP, Cesc, Flamini, Adebayor, Nasri, and Hleb. What did they win? A new “6” but the same old failures.
Every season King Arsene tells us that we will invest early and make sure that our new players get settled in before the new season starts, and every season Gooners wait anxiously for our “Super Duper” signings to arrive.
Like you said earlier, there are reasons that there are release clauses in player’s contracts.
Arsenal have the cash, but King Arsene doesn’t want us to realize that he isn’t wearing any clothes. No, instead he wants you watch his “Young Guns” parade around in their sharp yellow kits.
I’ll continue to support Arsenal because they’re my club, but I don’t know if I can support 3 more years of King Arsene’s reign.
Wake me up when we do something!

Supporting a football team ,Mark, is a long series of disappointments lit up by the occasional triumph.
In that, it’s like managing groups, as I found out.
Nice to hear from the north country.
Spring comes pretty late to my brother Neil in Colorado.
Are you near Canada or near Minneapolis?
