Wenger’s fault.Thierry couldn’t disagree with Graeme Souness

From James : players not the problem…

Myles,

There is always a tendency for Arsenal fans to overreact after a defeat.

But this defeat takes the biscuit.

Souness was bang on last night when he said the fault should be firmly pointed at Wenger.

The defeat sums up everything wrong with Arsenal.

Henry couldn’t bring himself to openly criticise Wenger but he didn’t disagree with Souness, which spoke volumes.

No coaching is evident on a defensive shape, which is why Mertesacker is constantly trying to play offside on his own!

There is very little evidence of any tactics in the side that Wenger puts out on a weekly basis.

Despite what has looked like good form until last night, there is an argument we’ve been riding our luck.

The build-up play is always slow, not enough runs are made off the ball in to threatening positions.

It took Walcott of all players to show the rest of them how to do it!

Can pundits and commentators stop saying Arsenal play quick passing highly technical football. We don’t and haven’t done for 3 years at least.

Our passing is slow and sideways, not quick and incisive.

We don’t dictate possession in the final third, pinning the opposition back and finding holes.

Wenger continues to show no in-game tactical reshaping or man-management to get the best out of players in a difficult situation.

Other than the usual substitution of a defensive player for an attacking player. The manager won’t change while the board are in place.

As fans we can only hope he buys a proper midfielder in the summer that complements the attacking talent.

Keep up the blogging.

Myles says:

If Wenger stays, Alexis Sanchez should put in a written transfer request.

He’d be a fool to waste his best years at Arsenal.

He’s better than Neymar.

Sanchez is one of the top six footballers in the world.

Deserves a better club, a hotter crowd, a younger coach.
