There’s a good line in the classy thriller we saw last night.
An exceptionally nasty police chief says, “They don’t teach the new Argentina at Harvard.”
As the film cruised way beyond 90 minutes, I started to think: When is this story going to end? How is it going to end? Is this the best foreign film I’ve seen since City of God, the one about the gangs in Rio ?
I didn’t realise The Secret In Their Eyes was going to last two hours and nine minutes.
The film isn’t slow.
It’s just that the story has a lot of places to go.
