Sharpshooter Kun Aguero stuns Manchester United again

Man Utd 1 Man City 2

When this game started, somebody mentioned momentum.

There were five of us last night.

And I said, “Momentum is when you go forward and lose the ball and one of your team gets it.”

I wasn\’t impressed by United, right from the moment when Welbeck powered forward at high speed and then, when he should have passed right to Rooney, tried to take on Clichy, who took the ball off him as  easily as he would have  taken candy from a baby.

After 10 minutes, I thought City would get on top in the next 15 minutes and score.

After 22, that hadn\’t happened but Man United were blunt in the front third, when they got that far.

At 25, City had enjoyed a 70% possession in the last10 minutes.

After 31, I said, “City won\’t lose this game, I\’ll tell you that now.”

I make a lot of predictions during games and some turn out to be right.

After 35, “City want it more- that\’s why they\’re gonna win.”

At half-time, Sky analyst pundit Gary Neville said: United\’s counter-attacks are not clinical.

Too right: Ashley Young was having a nightmare and you should never start RVP, Roo and Welbeck together.

In 51, Ryan Giggs lost possession with a back-heel in his own half, Nasri teed up the ball cutely for James Milner and Milner’s  left-foot shot flew past De Gea off the chest of centreback Phil Jones.

In 58, Van Persie\’s deadly free-kick to the far post provided the equaliser.

Phil Jones tried to head the ball, which hit the front of his left shoulder and went in off Kompany\’s back for 1-1.

Then Yaya Toure slalomed past two red shirts in a manner that was improbable, then slalomed past two more in a way that looked impossible. I thought: What he just did was impossible for any player other than Yaya Toure.

At 77, I said ,”City still want it more and will score.”

A minute later, sub Kun Aguero scored a goal even Luis Suarez couldn\’t have scored.

Scooting diagonally across the penalty area, beyond the panicking Jones and Welbeck, with his tiny legs pumping like pistons, Aguero fired the winner high inside the near post.

Doug, a United fan, shouted, “Amazing!”

Jan shouted, “I didn\’t think he was gonna do that!”

Doug said, “I think it\’s embarrassing for Man United to lose at home to City.”

Quite so.

Man City have now won consecutive game at Old Trafford for the first time since 1972.

But rivalry makes football fun.

Will Mancini be replaced?

I reckon so.
