Pardew/HALG/transfers/Theo/big names

From James LeBlanc :  Alan Pardew

What upset Wenger was not what he said as I’m sure he couldn’t care less about the content but the nasty aggressive intent from someone Wenger had previously given a helping hand to by allowing him to observe his training methods.

From Joel Martin: HAGL link

Well done to point out the hypocrisy on this, Myles.

Many Arsenal supporters (including my own brother) think that Arsenal genuinely values sustainability as business practice. That we stand for something other than money.

Where is our moral high ground now?

The link with HAGL reveals ArseCorp’s one and only value: profit.

From Malcolm Price :  strategic objectives

Corporate organisations only change when the people setting the direction change.

That’s not Wenger’s  fault, but his philosophy fits those that currently call the shots.

I want 4th still, not to perpetuate the status quo but just to avoid Spursday and Sundays.

Without a regular change at the top of any corporate business, it will fail as they need fresh ideas.

From Haroon Rauf: Sunday doesn’t change anything

Myles, you beat me to saying it.

There is a lot of anxiety about Sunday.

We all expect Tottenham to win at home meaning we need to get 3 points at St James were we havent alays had the best of results.

We’re playing a team that has massively under-performed. A team that has a lot of gifted players. They have nothing to play for but nothing to lose, they want to give the fans something to be hopeful for for next season.

It will be a tough game, 3 goals or an even share of 4?

What we have to remember, though, is what does it change?

Yes we want to be in the CL.

But why?

Well, one is money.  Two is attaction of the big names. Wenger always says that. Big name players want to play for the big clubs in the CL. That’s why we need to be there. If we are in the Europa cup we can not compete for the big name players.

I dont accept that Myles. I don’t accept it one bit.

With the exception of Corzola, who have we signed in the past 5 years where we would have not got if we were not in the CL and we would have missed?  People will say Arshavin would never have signed… so wha? We ruined him. He’s been a £16m Gazidis flop.

Who else would we have not signed? Chamakh? Park? Don’t tell me Giroud would not have signed for us.

Podolski? He was playing for Cologne.

It’s a struggle to name 1-2 players and an argument for and against can be made against them.

We havent used the CL to attacked the big players nor pay them. Its to the contrary. Players are rejecting us to play for others. Cesar at QPR rejected us. Miralles at Everton rejected us. Vertongen rejected us and players like Van der Vaart and Suarez are signing for clubs in theEeuropa cup.

Who would we not sign? Anyone who thinks we will buy Higuain from Madrid or Sanchez from Barca or Lewadowski from Dortmund or Robben or Rooney on that matter are way too optimistic.

Europa League or CL… Wenger will still buy players on a budget.

Players who want to play in a flash stadium in a flash city on more money than anyone else would ever offer them Myles.

Sunday changes nothing from what will be our summer plans for the club.

It just means we are potentially going to get an earful, not just  for a few weeks after we lose at WHL, we’re going to get it for a year from those down the Lane.. all the power shift crap talk.

It’s what hurts us Gooners… we don’t have a £7m pay packet to smile backon

That’s my rant over my lunch break.

Theo to use the big pitch and nick us three points.

Enjoy the weekend Myles… enjoy the 25th even more.

From Neil :  stating the obvious

He boldly claims ” No big names will leave Arsenal this summer”

This is the first statement he has gotten right

News Flash, Arsene:

THERE ARE NO MORE BIG NAMES AT THIS CLUB, YOU SOLD THEM ALL

SO YOU GOT THAT RIGHT.
