Sevilla 2 Leicester 1
Sarabia 25 Correa 62 Vardy 73
Who wants to be a squad player at Man City?
N’Zonzi was good at Stoke but Stoke are never gonna be top 4 in the EPL
Sevilla are third in La Liga and Nasri and N’Zonzi dominated this game against the stubborn Foxes, who ride their luck.
I gave Ranieri’s team no chance of winning and backed Sevilla to score the first goal.
Shortly after kick-off I backed Sevilla to score the first goal again.
When Wes Morgan clumsily clattered Correa, I thought I’d won my bets.
But Schmeichel saved Correa’s feeble penalty.
Then came a nicely measured move on the left flank, left back Escudero whipped a beautiful cross to the far post and Sarabia headed down across Schmeichel and saw his effort bounce inside the far post .The ball kissed the post on its way into the net.
From every angle, on every replay, it looked a beautiful and perfect goal.
But maybe I was biased.
It was 1-0 at half-time.
Leicester, with Demarai Gray now on for Musa, perked up a lot in the second half.
But when Vitolo glided cutely into a tiny space behind the defence, and collected Nasri’s lovely passs. his shot from a very narrow angle clipped the near post, rolled across the goal, and almost reached the corner flag on the other side.
A second goal was coming and when it arrived it was a classy one.
A Leicester-type forward ball found Jovetic running straight down the middle. He chested the ball, then headed it on, and then, very cleverly, let the ball run on.
Adjusting his balance as the blue shirts closed in, Jovetic then flicked the ball into Correa’s run and the kid made it 2-0 in fine style.
A terrific goal created by a flicky continental footballer.
Leicester looked in big trouble now but five slick passes released Danny Drinkwater on the left and his first time cross was precise and so was Jamie Vardy’s finish.
2-1 and all to play for in the second leg.
Can I make an understatement now?
It should be a rocking night at the Kingpower.
When I find out when that game is, I’m gonna put it in my Tate diary.
