From David : Nasri
Myles,
Just a quick note to say that Nasri is suspended for the 1st CL match along with RvP
From Alex Morgan : Nasri cup-tied
Hi,
At the end of the article on whether selling Nasri now is good business, you mentioned a worry that Nasri plays in the qualifier and his value drops after Arsenal lose.
If Arsenal were to lose he would not be cup-tied, as UEFA have changed the rules, so that any player that plays in a qualifier is not cup-tied if his team is eliminated in the preliminary rounds.
From Jack Morris: Cup tied
If you play in the qualifiers it doesn’t make you cup tied.
The only way it does is if you play, and then sign for a team who end up in the same group as your old team and then you’d not be allowed to play.
So if we were to lose, Nasri would be free to play in the CL
Myles says :
Thanks, chaps. I used to have editors and sub-editors to correct my mistakes.
Now I have readers to correct my mistakes, so I’m thankful for that.
I always watch for signs that I’m losing it & I thought I was losing it this morning.
I went into the shop and paid for my newspaper.
Then I went to Chris’s house and had a cup of tea with him and played him the Bon Iver CD and we talked about that and I told Chris said I had arranged to go and see a friend of ours at 10.45 a.m. and it was by now 10.55. am.
I got to the front door and said, “Where’s my paper? Did I leave it on your table.?”
I usually leave The Guardian on his table. But the paper was not there.
Then I realised my mistake.
I walked back into the shop and said, “Guess what I did?”
The guy looked puzzled for a moment.
“You forgot to take the paper?”
He laughed and slapped the counter with both hands.
Normally I take a paper, or two papers, out of the plastic rainproof display cabinet and go into the shop and pay. But if the shop isn’t busy, I pay first and then go outside and take the paper
I’VE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE.
Am I losing it?
No. I was just going too fast. I was far too revved-up for that time of day, too busy thinking ahead to rememebr what I was doing now.
This particular weekend offers an opportunity to slow down & do stuff that’s more creative and satisfying.
So I should be in a much better mood next week.
