From Mohsin Siddiki
Hi Myles,
Hope you’re keeping well.
I was at the game on Sunday, truly we are suffering a slow and painful death while the Emperor fiddles and deflects.
The gulf between the two sides just on the basics, leave alone talent, was frightening.
City could have won by any score they wanted after it went to 2-0. I can only hope that failure in the Europa league will see Stan and Ivan decide to pull the plug on this terminally ill patient.

Myles,
What did I just see?
What was that?
Did you switch off after the third goal went in?
Our opponents Man City, the strongest attacking team in over a decade.
Known for attacking in numbers, at pace, with power.
Yet we line up with a central midfield pairing of Xhaka and Ramsey, neither of them defensive.
We were begging to be demolished.
And we were.
With Giroud sold, at least put Nketiah on the bench. Kolasinac aside, the bench had no spark.
Only upside is that Wenger cannot hide after this.
Post match he was blaming an offside second goal, always blaming something.
It was a clear indictment of how far we have fallen.
But as long as he keeps making Kroenke a profit eh?
From Matt Perlman:
Myles,
Ed Aarons’ article was interesting and pretty hard to argue against.
Many of those names he mentioned have indeed turned out to be average at the very best.
However, one thing I would say, is that when Wenger was finding these rough diamonds and turning them into high profile stars, the world was different. The statisticians hadn’t made their mark on the beautiful game, which essentially meant that less people knew about talent, and less people were after the same players.
I don’t think Wenger’s eye for talent has suddenly disappeared. Nowadays, there is more competition for the top talent and the list of ‘coulda-woulda-shoulda’s’ would be a lot shorter if money was less of a factor.
Would a 21-year-old Van Persie, with 15 goals in 60 games for Feyenoord. cost £2.75m today? Probably not.

Robin Bang! Persie would have rattled Man City’s cage last night. While Aubameyang could not even beat Ederson with a penalty.
You know my mantra : Arsene FC is about Wenger’s mornings, his enjoyment of Ozil and HM in training, the loyalty of all the Frenchmen on his payroll, and the exercise of power to satisfy his colossal ego.
It’s now a venue for tourists. Most real Gooners have given up or left the farce when it became unbearable.
When Spurs fans wanted change they picketed Alan Sugar’s house in Chigwell.
On Wednesday John Cross told us in The Mirror that the Arsenal board have lost faith in Wenger.
John was given that line by the club. The Arsenal press office want that story out there.
Therefore Wenger is finished. I always respect my contract. Rubbish! I could have gone to Real Madrid. Insulting garbage!
Wenger would not have lasted a season at Real Madrid – and he knows it.
