Gooners wait for Bolton and Braga

I’ve been reading your emails.

A weekend without football has given me a chance to read all your emails and think about them in general, and what categories they fall into.

Many readers love the forum and enjoy a range of views. Some hate it and get very upset by what other fans write, as well as being angry at some things I write.

At least a third of you are furious that Wenger did not sign a goalkeeper.

Also been thinking about ANR in general and what’s its become in recent months.

My conclusion is that the ANR forum has become rather unhealthy and divisive. It’s also become boring. There is only so much you can say. It goes round in circles and I find that very boring. I can’t do boring. All my life, I’ve been unable to do boring. I prefer interesting. Interesting is what keeps me alive. Boring makes me feel rather grey and half-dead.

Yes, there are some good responses to the Bert Wright letter, and I’ll look at those again soon and post some.

I’m thinking this : Arsenal play Bolton on Saturday and Arsenal v Braga is on Wednesday night.

Quite interesting games, both winnable games, like most of Arsenal’s early season fixtures. The fixture list will help to give Arsenal a good start and keep them near the top for the next three months, I reckon.

As always, this season is not last season. As always, it’s about how many points you collect compared to your current rivals, not about now many points you get compared to last season..

With or without Gerard Houllier, Aston Villa are not one of Arsenal’s rivals. But Randy Lerner has obviously lost the plot. I don’t rate O’Neill and don’t rate Houllier either.

September is a busy month of six games, even though Arsenal will not play on the first 10 days of this month.

That’s it : Bolton and Braga coming up..

Let’s see how they do in those two home games. Let’s see how Chamakh, Koscielny and Squillaci are settling in.

We can talk about Arsenal when there is something to talk about.

The main thing in football is the matches and how the players perform in the matches.

All the rest is trivia and waiting.
