We’ve been a bit hard on Lady Nina, who owns 15.9 % of Arsenal.
Firstly, she is not wobbling. She’s keeping her shares.
Secondly, she’s really switched on to football. She’s a Gooner who knows everything about the Arsenal team, loves the way they play, and is a massive admirer of everything that Arsene Wenger is trying to do.
In the past, some of us have assumed : She lives abroad, doesn’t know anything about football, and couldn’t care less.
She doesn’t talk to the press, so nobody knows her. If we were that rich, we would not talk to the press either. I know I wouldn’t ! In London we have naive hacks who moan on about Abramovich, who say, “Why won’t he give us an interview?” Grow up, lads !
What I’ve previously believed, and written on ANR, is not the case. What I suspected about this educated Indian woman turns out not to be true. In fact, Lady Nina mixes with the movers and shakers of football, and knows what’s going on. That’s something all Arsenal fans need to know.
Gooners can now rest assured that London’s biggest club is owned by a British board, who have invited a very smart Yank to join them.
Good British owners are few. Newcastle and Spurs have British owners and both clubs are a shambles, an embarrassment to the game.
