From Sanj : What a World We Live In
Myles,
Reading your blog every day, I wonder if any of your readers actually have anything positive to say about The Arsenal.
There never seems to be too much up on your website praising the team for anything. Look, I know you like Jack, we all do, but let’s not try to convince the world that he is Arsenal’s only shining light.
Woj and Kos screwed up for the goal; it happens. This team is on the verge of something, whatever you may think, but the first trophy is the hardest.
How long did it take Man U to win that title in 2000? Didn’t they bottle it the season before, and the season before that, and……… How much money did the managers of that club spend in the 25 year quest for that title.
Of course, once they’d won one, and knew they could do it there was no stopping them.
Did you believe ManU couldn’t win a title under Alex before 2000? Be honest.
I follow this club wholeheartedly. I read about them and talk to fellow fans about them. We’re not all negative; many of us are very positive. Either these people don’t bother writing to you or you ignore them.
You have claimed not to be an Arsenal fan in the past and maybe that’s why you can’t get 100% behind the lads, I don’t know.
Arsene isn’t always right, but over nearly 15 years he’s been right more than he’s been wrong. He’s done for this club what no other person on the planet could have done.
Does Arsene always know best? Maybe not, but he’s earned my respect and admiration.
You and the naysayers who seem to be in the the ‘Arsene doesn’t know as much as me’ brigade won’t change that.
When Arsenal win that trophy, I expect you will be posting, in very bold colours and capitals, a huge apology to Arsene Wenger and the players.

Sanj, It’s you that’s a Gooner, not me.
That’s why you always give the club the benefit of the doubt.
I don’t give them the benefit of the doubts. I’m more objective. This squad does not impress me as much as it impresses you. The team’s style of play does not impress me as much as it impresses a lot of people.
But many fans are plastic Gooners who didn’t know that football existed before 1992.
You expect an apology from me to the manager and squad?
Quite a few readers say that.
Fine. let’s make one thing clear right now :
I will apologise to Wenger when he apologises to me for (1) making me watch Wiltord for too many years (2) making me watch Almunia for four years and (3) not drilling the defence in the way that a properly professional manager should and (4) having successive teams that can’t hold onto a lead and (5) having teams that can’t defend a corner or a free-kick into the box.
By the way, it took Sir Alex six years to win the title. It took George Graham three years.
