From Adam Holder: Fabregas’ comments
It would appear Cesc learnt many things from Wenger, including how to moan when your team “plays the better football” but loses the match.
From Steven Noble : Misquoted
Good afternoon Myles,
Are you sure that you were quoting Fabregas? That sounded like Wenger after a defeat by Blackburn/Stoke/Bolton!
He may have left the Colney crèche now, but he still speak from His Masters Voice.
From Ivan Helmer : Fabregas
Was he talking about Saturday’s game or any of the dozens he lost (or didn’t win) with Arsenal against (mostly northern) English teams?
Remember Wenger’s “Newcastle only had one shot in the whole game”?
And did Fabregas tell Capello in the tunnel “You managed Real? Well, they don’t play like this…”
The truth is that Spain were as monotonous and boring as Arsenal at their worst. But you wouldn’t expect him to admit that.
From Jack Morris: Cesc as Arsenal manager
Surely Arsenal won’t make the same mistake again?
If we appoint Cesc manager in 15 years, then 1 of two things will happen:
1. He’ll be rubbish
2. He’ll be the next Guardiola, meaning we’ll have a deja vu scenario on our hands where we spend every summer denying that he is going back to manage Barca.
Either way it’s terrible for Arsenal.
From Louise Lancell: Friendly rules
England played the same way Arsenal played away at Barcelona.
Fortunately, the Spanish don’t score from every attempt, so we had a chance.
Had this not have been a friendly, giving Capello the chance to re-energise the midfield with substitutes, England would have tired and Spain would have won comfortably.
However, it was nice to see England play as a team for once. I thought Milner’s work-rate was immense and he allowed Cole to follow his man instead of passing him on.
