Arsenal stop printing Adebayor shirts

Adebayor still hasn’t left.

Hleb still hasn’t signed for Barcelona.

Nasri hasn’t signed because Hleb hasn’t left yet.

Cristiano Ronaldo is still at Man United.

Gareth Barry hasn’t signed for Liverpool yet and Peter Crouch hasn’t signed for Portsmouth yet.

We’ve been in sunny, picturesque Croatia for 15 fabulous days and came home to rain at Gatwick and a Standard  front-page photo of Amy Winehouse slapping her minder and backpage Lampard headlines saying Chelsea and Inter both want him. And thought : I’ve been here before, many times.

IT’S GROUNDHOG DAY!!!

I was reading those two stories every day through May and June.

Nothing has changed! Nothing at all !

Football “news” is like the Chinese water-torture. A ghastly drip-drip-drip of trivia, fragments and re-heated trivia.

Since we left London on June 24, I’ve seen one Guardian and two Herald-Tribs. And I replied to 5 or 6 emails a week ago. Haven’t been online for a week, haven’t made one phone call, or taken one, in the last 15 days

MISSED NOTHING !

I was hoping to have something to write about when I came back ! No such luck. Nothing’s happened.

Oh, David Dein said Arsenal should sell to Usmanov or slip out of the top four.

DD would say that.

I’ve only been back 5 hours, so all I know is what I’ve read in Ian Grant’s last piece.

But I’ve heard two fragments.

The club have stopped printing Adebayor shirts.

And Theo Walcott has told them he wants Thierry’s No 14 shirt.

But they are trying to talk him out of that.
