And Bayern can never be Amerikan-owned

From Ruslan Morris : Bayern Munich’s philosophy

I watched Karl-Heinz Rummenigge being interviewed on Bloomberg TV yesterday.

What a refreshing change from the Arsenal approach.

He gives the supporters what they want:
– Results on the pitch supersede maximizing profit.
– Supporters own 51% of the shares
– Season ticket costs as low as £104.48 at Bayern Munich (and an even cheaper £73.88 at Barcelona, though a £130 membership fee is also required) .

Arsenal had the highest priced ‘cheapest’ season ticket at £1,014.

Myles says :

Rummenigge was an alpha male warrior as a player.

A star footballer can become a Chief Executive in Germany but not in the UK.

Ours just become TV presenters and pundits.

Germany was more sensibly organised without the class hatred that led to British industry being destroyed and flogged off. And football clubs cannot be sold to foreigners.

KHR talks realistically about expanding globally with the help of their sponsors adidas, Audi and Allianz Insurance.  And he’s diplomatic when asked whether FFP is working.

On ticket prices, he says, “We don’t want to lose the roots of football.”
