Without Ramsey, Giroud & Walcott, Arsenal look rather good

Seems a really long time since the team last played.

West Ham v Arsenal will be a key test for Elneny, Iwobi and this improving team.

Since I think Spurs will beat Manchester United at the Lane, an Arsenal draw at the Bolyn Ground will not be good enough.

IT’S A MUST-WIN GAME.

That’s a phrase I rarely use here.

Danny Welbeck is fit again and playing aggressively, Mohamed Elneny has slotted into centre midfield, and since Alex Iwobi began to score goals and fit in seamlessly, Arsenal have looked more solid and also more penetrating.

The two don’t always go together.

The centrebacks certainly need protection, since Gabriel isn’t as good on the ball as you would expect a Brazilian defender to be.

The Spring and Summer could be different this year. He might unload Walcott & Giroud. And he could get good money for Ramsey.

The rapid rise of Pochenham Hotspur could oblige Lord Wenger to abandon his favourite mantra: that you should never sign more than three players in a summer window.

He doesn’t like to do that because he might have too many players asking him why they’re not in the team. He might have to manage if that happened, rather than babysit.

We all know that Flamini and Rosicky and others will always take the money and never knock on his door or put in a transfer request.

Change doesn’t have to bring chaos.

Slaven Bilic created a new team at West Ham in six months & I love that.

Its Friday and I always read Slav’s column in the Standard because he’s candid and makes some good points.  He doesn’t pontificate, or wrap everything up in spin, or tell other clubs what they should be doing.

When I met Slav in the Nineties, he was my kind of guy. And he still is.
