From Paul J : AW gone by the end of August ?
Do you think Wenger would walk if Arsenal slip up and crash out of the CL in the qualifier in August?
With the current losers in the team I fear this is a possibility, especially after the worse end of season run in recent memory!
Seeing them go from title hopefuls to 4th place – Disgraceful finish, that I feel still hasn’t had the level of criticism it deserves.
Since the calamity at Wembley in Feb they won 2 games in the league – one against United when the team got up for a big game when the pressure was off but the usual nonsense saw them chuck games away against poor sides slumping to 4th.
Only the relegated teams and Newcastle had poorer form from March 1st.
One thing’s for sure, he he doesnt get rid of the many weak links, and buy proper players, we won’t finish in the top 4 next season, as the others will all strengthen.
Myles says :
Steady on, Paul.
It’s too soon to get neurotic.
Transfer window only opened today and you know AW buys on the last day to save £700.
Let’s see who buys who.
My guess is that Kroenke, Abramovich, the Glazers, John L. Henry and company DO NOT want to spend big money this summer.
Mitch just told me Wenger’s going to the Copa America.
He once went to Brazil and tried to buy Julio Baptista the Beast for £13m.
That was big big money then.
Luckily, he didn’t sign Baptista for £13m. That deal could have cost Wenger his job.
Julio Baptista was crap and is crap. That shows you what a sublime talent scout Wenger is.
My prediction: If some experienced players look good, Wenger will not sign any of them.
