From Steve : interesting analysis of Villa’s goal
Hi Myles ,
Long time reader here, never written before though.
I was dismayed at how easily Villa scored against us and how close we came to throwing away that win.
I was even more dismayed that all the talk after the game was of “coming through the crisis” and ignoring that we’d conceded another joke goal.
Then I found this match report which analysed the goal really well with pictures, highlighting Theo’s part in it and how there’s a lack of work ethic to our defending.

Also, it was amusing to read the ridiculous comments slagging off the author from blinkered Arsenal fans.
I‘m sure you know how he feels!
From Kay: Arsene Napoleon may end up third
I believe Arsenal may still end up third this season if they do not lose against Spurs.
That game is a massive game for the club. I admire and respect Tottenham but they too, with Chelsea, will drop points sooner or later.
If Monsieur Arsene Napoleon can just send the right message, and use the right players and formation, they may just end up third. But that would ironically cost the hurting fans because Arsene Napoleon will regard that as equal to winning the Champions League final, therefore no new players will be brought in next season.
It’s really complicated…
From Neil Peters : 3 games to change the current vitriol
We again have reached an interesting point in the season.
Last year it was the Spurs game that changed the narrative of “Wenger must go” that was rising to the team getting third place.
This year we have the run of Villa, Spurs and Everton.
Beat Villa and get 4 points from the next 2 games and suddenly the AKB brigade who have been getting quieter will come back and everything will appear rosy.
However, lose 2 of the 3 and 4th place will be gone and the vitriol that is around the stadium will be difficult for anyone to ignore.
As such I am looking forward to going to the Villa game. If we win I shall enjoy, if we lose I shall be frustrated but enjoy the spectacle.
Whatever, I shall go for a curry afterwards with an AKB mate and we shall have fun arguing the whys and wherefores once agin!
After all that is part of the fun of footy – which we do sometimes forget.
