The Observer tells the truth about Jol and Spurs

ENIC want sell Tottenham as a Champions League club.

I’ve been convinced all week that their agenda is to get Spurs into 4th place and then sell the club immediately as a Champions League club.

ENIC will get planning permsission to expand White Hart Lane and then  flog Spurs in summer 2008.

I gather Mike Ashley could be involved as he will make £30 million on his sale of Newcastle to the Icelandic pair.

Spurs been looking for a new manager all summer and they’re still looking.

Last week’s farce, when Spurs gave Martin Jol the tin-tack and then could not hire Juande Ramos from Seville, has made them the laughing stock of football.

But nobody has pointed out why Daniel Levy is in such a hurry to finish fourth.

This morning on Sky I watched Brian Woolnough’s Sunday Supplement, with Sam Wallace, Shaun Custis and Paul Hayward.

They did not mention this story.

Brian is a pal and he’s always been very nice to me. And he’s respectful of my views on football. Well, most of my views on football. He balked a bit when I told him Ginola should never have been Footballer of the Year.

This morning the lads discussed the football headlines, and the big issues of the last week, without mentioning the Kevin Mitchell story in The Observer.

I haven’t had time to read it, and I won’t have time till later today, or tomorrow. But you should read it.

Mitchell says : Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy’s aim is simple – to make a massive killing by selling the club.

They could have sold it to Abramovich but they blew that chance by asking for too much money.

I have PLENTY to say about the Arsenal – Man City game.

And when I get time I will bash that out right here.

But it won’t be till Tuesday 9.00 am.
