The deconstruction of Arsene Wenger

From Xavier

Hello Myles,

Well, who could have foreseen it?

Where the forward-thinking fans, concerned ex-players and the football media failed, SAF succeeded!

We owe Sir Alex so much more than he knows.

That spanking was needed. Many supporters didn’t feel too bad because deep down, they secretly wanted it to happen. Something drastic was needed to bring about a change of ways.

This is the humbling that Arsene’s arrogance has been taking him towards for a long time and on Sunday afternoon, the once great man looked like a clueless nobody.

That game showed that the squad has not been built correctly and that Wenger knows nothing about tactics. He has been kicked into check at the hands of his old adversary who it seems has nothing but pity for him now.

Any other season and Wenger would have been telling us around about this time that he is happy with his squad and can find no one better.

Two weeks ago he said he won’t be buying any left backs because he has Gibbs, Traore and Vermalaen, now a U-turn has seeen him acquire a seasoned left back.

Any other previous season he would have told us he has four CB’s and needed no more without getting rid of any, now he is acquiring a seasoned centre back.

The deconstruction is near complete but did it have to come to this for him to see sense? Why could he not see the shortcomings of his squad?

He put a number of his precious kids on the market this summer and I guess their market valuations have shown him what they are really worth, these kids are not worth much outside of Colney Creche.

So low that we have to resort to sending some on loan. That should have given him a hint.

This mess is all of his making and only time will tell if the Wenger era has suffered irreparable damage from recent happenings.

My suspicion is that he no longer has the confidence of his players and the better ones are simply waiting for their trains, they have their boarding passes already. Things will get worse before they get better.

Meanwhile, we wait and we watch.

The King is dead, long live the professor!
