The case for bringing Cesc back

From Richard: Giroud was only ever Plan B

Read the comments from others over the search for a striker last summer.

Is it just me or was Giroud only ever a Plan B that actually turned into the Plan A?

Our pursuit of Higuain and then Suarez made absolute sense and would have complemented the team.

When both fell through (for whatever reason) Wenger knew Giroud would have to be Plan A and went and got Ozil to create more chances, knowing full well that Giroud is never going to create in the same way Suarez does.

This makes me wonder why any sane man would not look at bringing Cesc back: it allows you to buy a second-tier striker who can make hay from the endeavours of midfield.

Myles says:

Fabregas is a very strong personality and much loved by Arsenal supporters.

If he plays for Chelsea he’ll improve their team hugely, I think.
