Sterling with Loftus-Cheek/Rashford still on England bench

You probably know that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is six foot four.

He’s had back issues and does a lot of yoga.

Raheem Sterling is five foot seven.

We were told Sterling would be dropped. But we are now told that Raheem is starting against Panama.

Is that a crafty leak by England?  Disinformation?

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is a proven goalscorer with a reliable temperament. He is a skilful, superfast power player who can score from 25 yards -and there will come a moment in Russia when we need that.

My admiration for the attacking midfielder from Tottenham is no secret. After KDB, he’s been my favourite Premier League player for the last two seasons.

Dele Alli is a far far far far FAR better finisher than Sterling or Lingard.

Is it logical to say: If Dele Alli isn’t fit enough to play against Panama, Marcus Rashford must start. Does that make sense to you?

The Guardian story by Dom Fifield has a good quote by RLC’s dad, Trevor Loftus.

His father said  last year: “Mourinho held him back. Everyone behind the scenes was asking: ‘Why isn’t he playing?’ If Ruben was playing for Mauricio Pochettino, he’d have 70, 80, 90 first-team appearances by now.”
