Reus’s mates are Gotze & Schurrle, not Ozil

From Arjun : Reus & Benzema

What a load of rubbish!!

No doubt Reus is an amazing player but if he is great friends with anyone then it’s Gotze and Schurrle. His Instagram is full of them, haven’t seen one with Ozil at all.

Not denying his abilities but feel we have a lot of quality in the middle of the park. If anything, I might have been been sold had Reus been a winger on the left.

As for Benzema, I honestly believe that he is more of an AW signing than any other player.

The way he has been playing in people like Ronaldo for goals would be just what AW needs from his players.

Opta published stats showing him providing more assists than Ozil did in his time at RM.

Benzema is a great finisher as well, he is 3rd in line behind Messi and Ronlado in terms of contributions to goals in La Liga over the last few years easily and the stats show that.

I have a co-worker who is a Dortmund fan who finds it hard to believe that Reus will leave, and with many Dortmund players sometimes it’s not about money. Unlikely we’ll sign either of them, more likely to sign Llorente.

But, to suggest that Benzema is no good is just crazy.

Giroud is a workhorse but we need an upgrade to be legitimate challengers.

Myles says:

Doubt if AW will sign Benzema now, Arjun.

Despite a story today that he has agreed a 4-year contract with Arsenal.

LET’S WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

In the summer of 2011, when Mourinho wasn’t happy with Benzema, Wenger went in for him and a fee was agreed in pre-season.

But Benzema’s wages were very high and the board over-ruled Wenger.

It was Mats Hummels who commendably commented that, “We earn enough at Dortmund.”

There are a lot of things I like about Germany.

A year ago, on holiday, I bought Kundera in Prague and read him in Berlin.

On the Friday we got a train up into Germany, two brothers, two wives.

I walked up to the buffet car and there were no customers and nobody behind the bar. A girl who looked seventeen was reading a newspaper at a table behind the door. She jumped up and went behind the counter and served me tea in paper cups with lids.

Myles (passing the time of day): “What can you tell me about Berlin?”

Girl: “I’ve never been to Berlin.”

When the train came to the border, a new driver took over and all the Czech staff were replaced by Germans.
