Patrick in Germany on Arsenal’s transfer window

From Patrick :

According to Mr. Wenger, he and his team work very hard to find solutions in the transfer market to get the team better.

Let’s go back to the start of the window.

Giroud didn’t even start the FA Cup Final. It was already clear to see that a new striker has to come in. The Coach always wants to buy ‘quality’, ‘better then we already have’.

Look at the strikers (better then Giroud) who moved in the first weeks: Bacca (won Sevilla the Euro League), Jackson (well known release clause, proven goalscorer), Mandzukic (everything what Arsenal lack: A fighter and a winner), even Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar would have been an upgrade.

Two of them were moving to Milan. They won’t play Champions League football at all. It’s beyond me why Arsenbal are not moving for them.

Same situation in the DM position.

I am surely not calling to replace Coquelin but to rotate him.

Why not activate the release clause of the polish guy from Sevilla back in July? Why don’t go after Biglia who is captain at Lazio and knows how to put a foot in?

As I am from Germany and watching the Bundesliga every weekend, I am not a big fan of Lars Bender, but he would definitely offer more then Arteta and Flamini in 2015.

That’s I want to say about transfers.

Next up our pretty-poster-boy players. Someone has to shave their heads or something so they won’t have to care about ruin their hairstyle throughout a match.

For anyone who said Keane is stupid for the selfie comments…Look at Chambers: Gets a game against Liverpool, surfing on Twitter. How ridiculous is this? Before we talk about ‘world class’ signings there should be at least two signings of players who shut the current squad down.

Look at the captains: Arteta, Mertesacker, Santi.

None of them shouting at the pitch.

Who protects Coquelin when he gets nearly send off, who talks to him? NO ONE.

I don’t think anyone will come in the next days.

All i can say is that Lavezzi  (again: winner and fighter, maybe a bit too similar to Sanchez) was available for £10m, now off to Inter Milan.

I know he is not a striker in the Giroud mould, but he has at least two good years left. Why not sign him?

I don’t know how seriously injured he is, but Biglia would be a good solution for DM. An experienced guy who knows how to lead a team.

Lazio were confused yesterday against Bayer Leverkusen without him.

Myles says:

Try to remember that they’re just footballers.

They shouldn’t be worshipped but those who do great things or big things  over a period of years should be respected.

The value of a footballer, or a group of footballers, is what they  do on the pitch.

Nothing else is notable or worth our attention.

Certainly not their sanitised quotes and banal tweets and dopey Instagram pics with comments like: Wicked goal, bro!

PS. I don’t rate Lavezzi but I do rate Payet.

As I’ve noted many times, Arsenal isn’t a football club.

It’s a business model. And Wenger is the ideal “manager” for Kroenke’s business model.

Knowing that, I can never be disappointed by Arsenal’s results or angered by their performances. I’ve become a neutral.
