Outclassed Liverpool draw 1-1 with slick, vibrant Chelsea

Eden Hazard turned up last night

So he’s played one game this season.

Hazard, last season’s Footballer of the Year, has been garbage all season.

But last night at Anfield it looked as if Hazard was on ice-skates as he produced a super-charged slalom through all the red shirts to score a fabulous solo goal.

Was Anfield turning him on?

Or was it a come-and-get-me show aimed at Real Madrid?

Lovely goal, Eden. But where have you been for the last 50 games?

Chelsea played with artistry and speed in Klopp’s 50th game in charge.

But then Liverpool sub Benteke grabbed a late equaliser in 92 when Begovic slapped a cross onto his head three yards out.

Courtois, wanted by Real Madrid,  was in the stand , while Begovic never looked convincing on crosses.

Overall, Liverpool’s 100mph style was made to look naive by the classy Blues. But part of me did wonder whether speed and pressure would eventually pay off between 70 and 90 minutes.

Then the always proactive Klopp took off raiding left back Moreno and replaced him with Ojo and it worked.
