One German, one Italian? Who are they?

From Augie: predictions

Hi Myles,

I remember your Sol Campbell prediction like it was yesterday.

A couple of days before he was signed all the rumours had him going to Inter or Barca but you announced that we were in for him and had kept number 23 open for him in the squad.

That prediction sold your website to me and I have been a regular visitor ever since.

Re your predictions this time

1. Everybody believes that the German that you refer to is Draxler but I am keen to know if he will join us this month, or sign now and join in the summer, which would be a waste of time in my opinion.

2. We all assume that the Italian will be either Vucinic or Giovinco but neither would be inspiring signings in my opinion.

Right now we have a real chance of lifting silverware this season and events in the next 5 days will determine whether we have genuine ambition or are just happy to finish in the top 4

From Jon Minall : Italian signing…

Hi Myles,

Intrigued with the latest snippet, as many are…wondering if the Italian is El Shaawary.

I know we were heavily linked in the summer.

Just hope he gets another striker in.

Giroud is decent, nothing more, nothing less, as we all know.

Thanks for the update.

Myles says:

Arsenal don’t need Draxler now but if they don’t sign him now they could get gazumped in the summer.

If Arsenal did sign El Shaawary, 20, he’d be different to anybody at the club. Wenger might just turn a technical runt into a prolific sharpshooter like Aguero.

But three weeks ago the striker had foot surgery which will keep him out till March.

And any deal with Milan would depend on how keen new coach Seedorf is to keep the lad. Incidentally, a friend’s wife, who is Italian, reckons that Berlusconi is still a big influence in politics and reckons that the arrival of a black coach in charge of AC Milan is a vote- winner for the right.

Most immigrants  vote left.

PS. Mention of Giovinco reminds me of when we saw him play for Italy in Pescara.
