From Michael Harris:
Hello Myles,
Hope all is well.
I bet you loved Ronald Koeman’s comments about banning Southampton players from using headphones on a Matchday.
He said it affects the communication on the pitch and they need to communicate more.
They actually do exercises every week which focuses on concentration and communication on the pitch.
It was fascinating and refreshing to hear.
Like you, I’ve never forgiven Wenger allowing the players to turn up at the League Cup final in slacks and headphones on.
Have a great weekend!
Myles says:
So it’s not just me who remembers that sloppiness.
From Max Stirner : Arsenal
I went to the Southampton match at the Emirates and experienced the Arsenelization of the club, an insipid void filled with passionless fans and complacent players, the place wreaked with the stench of exploitation, football as a commodity.
Highbury was all about an organic connection between players and supporters. Kroenke and his cronies, Wenger and the sycophants are leading us to total alienation.
Thank God for Leicester and Diego Simeone.
Myles says:
As I watched Atletico Madrid beating Barca 2-0 on Wednesday night, I was thinking: Atletico are the Leicester of La Liga: tremendous organisation driven by burning desire.
I still reckon Leicester will win the title.
And Atletico Madrid will win the Champions League. Why? Because they have the tightest defence.
