After the 0-0 against Milan, one of the first things Arsene Wenger said was, “I’m worried about the pitch.”
Today he revealed that this concern has been removed.
“It’s like they listened to me,” said Wenger, laughing. “They relaid the pitch. Next day a friend of mine who lives in Milan called me and said, ‘I just went to San Siro, they’re relaying the pitch.’ I said, ‘Oh, they are very quick to respond !’ So that’s one worry less. Now we have only one worry – Milan. You can tell me it’s a very big one. I agree with you. But I’m confident we can find a goal or two – and I’m confident that we can qualify.”
In Milan, away goals will count double in a one-off game.
“I believe 0-0 is not a bad result at home, even if it is not the right result on the day. But we have put in their mind that it will be difficult to knock us out. They got that from the first game and we have to take advantage of that and go there with a very positive attitude.”
