RONALDINHO held off Gattuso, then turned and lofted the most exquisite pass of the season, pinpointed to bounce near the corner of the six-yard box and into Giuly’s diagonal run from right to left.
That allowed Giuly to score the best goal of his career with a half-volley high inside Dida’s near post.
Shevchenko never got a decent pass before that goal in 53 minutes and did not get any pass after it.
Gilardinho missed two chances Inzaghi would have scored, even if the second one was a only a half-chance.
First half, Ronaldinho did not look fit, Frank Rijkaard’s body language wasn’t good and president Laporta’s face more anxious than I’ve ever seen it.
I didn’t think Ronaldinho would play more than 60 but he hit the inside of the post on 63, and played 89.
Barca defended very well after the goal.
Milan looked too old, too slow, not dynamic enough. Kaka, diving to get Puyol booked, was shadowed well by Edmilson.
Milan were lucky in last year’s semi against PSV and lucky to beat Lyon in the quarter-final this year, but their luck ran out when Ronaldinho split them open with that killer pass.
It’s football, it’s unpredictable, it’s not over yet.
But it’s hard to see Milan winning 2-0 in the Nou Camp, even with Inzaghi back.
