Koscielny and Drogba were having a laugh

From Justin  : One abiding memory

…from Sunday was watching Koscielny having a laugh with Drogba as the teams left the pitch at the end of the now usual lesson in professionalism given to the Arsenal boys by Chelsea’s men.

Having a laugh? After that?

Do you think the Chelsea players would be having a laugh with our boys if Arsenal had won? That’s the difference. Players like Koscielny never really expected to win and are satisfied with defeat. That’s why this team won’t win anything.

You know the chant:, “Champions League? You’re having a laugh.”

Myles replies :

Good spot. But nothing new.

At West Ham, Henry walking off arm in arm with his buddy Teddy Sheringham.

Diehard Gooners hated to see that.

How did Koscielny miss that header? How can he miss a header from two yards? How can he miss an open goal with no defender near him?

That is Arsenal. Their players do things that you never see other players do.

Ray Parlour would have charged Alex’s free-kick. Freddie Ljungberg would have charged it. So would Nigel Winterburn. So would Paul Scholes. You need a charger with balls. A charger who cares. If that free-kick goes in, it’s 2-0 and game is over.

Song turned his body and the shot flew in. Taking that hit is his job. But Wenger won’t give him a bollocking for that. He won’t say : “Stand up! Do your job! What am I paying you for? Are you a man?”

I would ask him : Mr Song, What is a wall? What is a wall for?Why do you think a team puts a wall in front of a free-kick.?

Fortunately, my happiness does not depend on football results.

Arsene Wenger is a flawed man with a flawed philiosophy, so I gave up on him three years ago.

I don’t believe in his methods and I don’t believe in the culture he has created. That’s why I call it the Colney Creche.

Arsenal will not win any more trophies while Wenger is in charge. I’ve said that repeatedly and I’m saying it again now.

That’s why I won’t be at the AGM this year.

I’ve been to far more Arsenal AGMs than most journalists.

And I’ve written many thousands of words about AGMs on ANR and in The Professor. And I’ve been to several Spurs AGMs as well. So I’ve done my share.

I’ve had enough.

Don’t want to do any more. Not interested. Sanitised and tedious.
