This is player with a workrate that is matched by no other. Every commentator I’ve listened to believes this guy is on the same wavelength as his colleagues.
But Ade can write that after everything Alexis has done in his first season. Only Thierry Henry has scored so many goals in his first. The only signing to have had the impact similar to TH14.
As you pointed out, without Alexis, we would be mid-table now.
I can’t believe it. I can’t get my head around it. Alexis could see that passing and passing and passing in small triangles against a well-drilled Monaco defence was never gonna open them up and I believe he was trying everything he knew to unlock that defence. The direct way to do that was to take men on. The only other player who takes men on in that team in AOC. He was injured.
I’m lost for words. Deeply offended that I can see such drivel being written about a player who deserves more than Arsenal.
He deserves to be playing alongside the best in the world. But he knew Arsenal could be a little step down.
