The EPL gives us many spectacular games between flawed teams.
And it’s often the flaws which make the matches so spectacular.
I’ll have plenty to say about Saturday’s games….. on Monday.
It’s turned out that this Easter Sunday is a family day, so we’ll have roast lamb in due course, and then, tonight, I might make a start on my Gold Bunny, a chocolate rabbit with a red ribbon round his neck.
In the meantime, I’m enjoying some hard-boiled detective stories.
Looking for a book on a high shelf on Good Friday, I found four green Raymond Chandler paperbacks.
Three are novels.
The other, with five stories, is what I’m reading: Trouble Is My Business, where the cool tough detective is John Dalmas.
It’s fun to re-read good books slowly, studying their craft, seeing how precise the sentences are, how the narrative speeds and slows and accelerates again.
