From Brendan : Arsenal-Spurs
Hi Myles:
Regarding your synopsis of the NLD.
Well, Wenger had a point about Wanyama .
And although the football trade union rallied behind Crappenburg over the penalty, it looked pretty soft to me. It looked like Kos was trying to play the ball and Dembele simply fell over his leg. But as you often remind us, it’s about opinions!
And so here is mine… Tottenham played their hearts out for the NLD and they will now play other games where they will not be able to find that intensity, in exactly the same way as they haven’t against Leverkusen, and in the last three or four league games, and they still didn’t win.
Arsenal played the game like any other game, more or less. And still came out with a draw.
Pochettino is NOT proven. He failed last season. Maybe he’ll succeed this season, maybe not. But as we are looking at it now, to put him on any pedestal is absurd.
Klopp is a different story, yes, he is a proper threat.
And Conte, and Pep.
I’d love to say with confidence that the Nabob of nullification is not a threat but I can’t.
So it’s still incredibly difficult. But just look at what happened last season.
Myles says:
Last season Leicester surprised us – and themselves.
Pochettino is a very good coach who has won nothing, as you say.
I think Jose Toxicho is finished.
And I still believe Ed Woodward is Man United’s worst player.
