From Adrian: Re: Antonio Conte’s abysmal Chelsea make Arsenal look like world-beaters
The team in every position were better than Chelski were bad.
A word or two for Walcott would be worthy of mention, for Gibbs too, when he came on, I thought.
I was very sorry to Coquelin go off hurt in a 50:50. He had linked very well with Cazorla and made some excellent interceptions.
But, when you see Xhaka as a bona fide replacement, and with Elneny as further reinforcement and Ramsey too once fit, it looks promising in midfield.
As for Alex Iwobi. What a massive amount of talent he possesses.
Myles says:
Alex Iwobi is one of those silky natural footballers who can play all over the front third of the pitch and make things happen smoothly
It’s in his genes. His uncle is Jay-Jay Okacha, a dribbling playmaker who won 95 caps for Nigeria up to 2006.
Okacha was fantastic footballer who had a very long career.
Iwobi is now 20 and played youth football for England before choosing to play for the Nigerian senior international team.
Yes, Arsenal were tremendous against Chelsea.
Now let’s see them be tremendous again against Basel on Matchday 2.
The more I look at these Champions League Groups, the odder they look.
The Basel you play next year could be a completely different opponent to the Basel you play at the Emirates on Matchday 2. They could be much stronger – or much weaker.
The Telegraph says Arsenal should make sure the Chelsea game is a turning point for them.
Looks as if Wenger now has the squad to do that.
