Already I don’t know what day it is.
There are many days like that around Christmas, for millions of people. Your routine goes out the window and it’s best, I think, just to go with the flow, man, as the hippies used to say.
When 2012 comes onto your diaries, calendars, watches, computer screens and smartphones, you’ll know exactly what you’re doing.
If you’re wondering why Spurs are playing Chelsea on a Thursday, don’t worry and don’t wonder. I can’t predict who’ll win that game.
But I can tell you the last time Spurs won the league. It was 1961.
That was about nine years before colour TV started.
Dave Mackay and Jimmy Greaves played in black and white. And Jimmy joined after the Double.
I gather that Arsenal play Aston Villa tonight.
Frankly, it doesn’t seem that important right now.
I’m sure Arsenal will win but I’ve made predictions like that before. And been wrong before. But I don’t think I’m a jinx.
Darren Bent is back. I like Bent but he won’t worry Arsenal much. He’ll have two shots and Szczesny will save both.
Wenger says he might get a left back on loan. In mid-August he should have signed Jose Enrique from Newcastle, a proven left back who was 25 and only £6m.
Sunday’s pulsating game took a lot out of Arsenal, I’m sure.
But I bet it took a lot out of Manchester City as well.They won 1-0 but it took hard work and plenty of luck
In case I don’t get another chance to write this week : Slow down, enjoy Christmas, love family and friends, make sure you appreciate the people around you.
And take care when driving, rushing, walking downstairs, drinking. I hope you don’t have too many travel glitches, motorway jams or unexpected Rail Replacement bus services.
