Big Sam bullies Arsene again

FANS FELT FURIOUS and betrayed by the manner in which Arsenal lost 2-0 at Bolton on Saturday.

Two of my friends watched the whole game live in an illegal pub, or “speakeasy”, as one jokingly dubs it.

One phoned from the pub after the game. I can’t publish the contents of that call – and would not want to.

However, the other, Stewart Joseph has allowed publication of his private email to me on Sunday morning :

1. Ljungberg was stuck to the touchline like a limpet. As he has been for most of this appearances over the last 12 months. He doesn’t get involved in the game from there.

2. Gilberto was off the pace even before the cock-up for the second Bolton goal.

3. Arsene got the substitutions very wrong. Cesc was the only Arsenal player driving forwards in midfield. He should have stayed on. Gilberto should have gone off. Van Persie was looking more dangerous than Freddie. So Freddie should have gone off instead.

4. There was little to link defence and attack. From the start it was clear that Arsene decided we were going to play the long ball upfield. But that’s no excuse for lack of variety. TH14 needed to track back and get stuck in. I don’t count his one foray to the left back position.

5. Make Cygan History.
