POLICE WILL HOLD Robin van Persie in custody in Rotterdam for a third night.
The striker was arrested on Monday night after rape allegations.
Rotterdam police are now investigating the alleged incident.
Prosecutors will apply to a judge on Thursday to hold him for up to 14 more days, according prosecution spokeswoman Jei Chen de Graaf.
“We are going to keep him in custody tonight and we are going to ask a judge tomorrow to keep him in custody for a further 14 days pending investigations,” said de Graaf.
THIS STORY broke on the net three minutes after I posted my last piece here, saying, among other things, how well Robin was doing now.
IF RVP goes to prison it will leave a big hole in Arsene Wenger’s squad and a big hole in the club’s financial plans.
WHAT WOULD IT COST to replace Robin van Persie at short notice?
