What do u think, Myles?
Myles says:
I reckon Arsenal will beat Stoke 2-1.
I figured Arsenal would beat Marseilles and I knew they’d beat Sunderland.
Today all eyes will be on Ozil but I will be keeping an eye on Begovic too.
The Bosnian is 26 and six foot six and I thought he was outclassing David James at Portsmouth an should have played more. Stoke signed him in February 2010 for £3.25 million. He was man of the match on the first day when Stoke lost 1-0 to Liverpool.
I firmly believe that big clubs should not develop goalkeepers. My view then was that if Wenger had to buy a young keeper, he should have signed Begovic.
Arsenal\’s slick passing should overcome Stoke today.
Man United will attack City on the flanks and rip them to shreds. I saw this morning that the three top scorers in the Manchester derby are Joe Hayes, Francis Lee and Wayne Rooney with 10 goals each.
That reminds me of a story Dave Pask tells about when he supported City as a kid and used to go to Maine Road on the bus on Saturdays. One of the other passengers on the bus was Joe Hayes, who was playing centre forward for City at that time. I met Dave when I was writing Mark Knopfler: An Unauthorised Biography.
Dave and Mark used to teach at Loughton Tech in Essex and played together in a rockabilly band called The Café Racers. Dave was the singer.
