From Ingham : want to add to Goonergerry’s thoughts
Good morning Myles,
Just wanted to comment before tonight’s game.
Don’t really want to talk about Arsenal or the game but I do think Arsenal will nick it.
Man Utd are still a very strong attacking side, even if not fully firing.
Wow – I have watched a lot of football this year including the Man Utd games.
A VERY STRONG ATTACKING SIDE – Statistics don’t lie –
Man Utd have scored 47 goals. Spurs 46. Liverpool – 42.
Top 3 – Chelsea 57 . Man City 59 . Arsenal 53
Di Maria was on fire when he first came to Old Trafford– he lacks confidence now and looks jaded.
Falcao will be sent back and perhaps Van Gaal will splash the cash on Robert Lewandowski.
Manchester Utd look ordinary and certainly are not an attacking side, they will struggle to be in the top 3.
If you think about all the goals they have scored this year – perhaps Di Maria’s chip will be the Goal of the Season but Man Utd don’t score many team goals at the moment.
Spurs are not far behind with a very good young manager. Spurs have been occasionally able to raise themselves to a more intensive level than Arsenal are capable of.
Yes – against Chelsea at WHL and against Arsenal. They do have a very good young manager and I think it is great for the league to see Rodgers / Pochettino / Koeman all doing well.
Raise themselves – They were poor in the cup final (They did not raise themselves) and quite honestly I thought Pochettino got his tactics wrong. Spurs played OK but they allowed Chelsea to boss Kane.
I watched yesterdays game at QPR and Spurs got away with it. They were very mediocre. They have Green to thank for it and poor decisions on the part of the referee.
Saldono will be sold in the summer and maybe Charlie Austin will be applying his trade at WHL.
Spurs will struggle to be in the top 4 let alone top 3. Outside of Eriksen – the Spurs midfield is average.
I love this comment Arsenal ‘s midfield does not appear able to control any game any more?
I don’t know how many games that Goonergerry has watched but Sanchez, Cazorla and Coquelin and Ozil are playing very well. Its our defence that is letting us down.
The team everyone is talking about – Liverpool.
Henderson is no Steven Gerrard – Not even close. Quite frankly Gerrard was one of the finest players of the last decade. His passing accuracy was tremendous and a game like today against Blackburn – would have seen him take ownership and do one of his driving runs to try and get a result.
With Skrtel injured – that could impact the rest of the season. Toure is an average player now. Lovren was not worth the money.
They missed Sturridge and Sterling is a great young player – You missed him
At the moment Rooney is carrying Man United, Sanchez is carrying Arsenal, and Hazard is carrying Chelsea.
Kane / Lloris – Spurs , Sterling – Liverpool
Mario will be sold in the summer as will Lambert. Berahino is a Liverpool-type player.
Liverpool I suspect will finish 4th, a lot will depend on Skrtel and the Blackburn replay.
Thanks as always, Myles.
From Mike : Arsenal will bottle it
Do you know what our record against Manchester United is?
We’ve won 1, drawn 3 and lost 11!
Can you believe that!
Even against the worst Manchester United side in living memory (under David Moyes last season) we bottled it massively and lost 1-0. This was against such a poor United team – I couldn’t believe it!
At the time, we were top of the Premier League and apparently full of confidence! So if we can’t beat them when we’re top of the league when are we going to?
United are also a very lucky side (as we saw against Newcastle last week) so expect more of the same at Old Trafford tonight!
Myles says:
I could believe it. But I’m sure Arsenal won’t lose 8-2 tonight.
