Arsenal to buy Jackson Martinez before he sets Copa America on fire?

His agent expects a deal to go through in the next few days!

That’s good because I hate waiting.

Detest it.

Before today I didn’t think Wenger would sign any 28-year-old striker who only scores goals and has no resale value.

But since he doesn’t rate Welbeck and didn’t sign him, Danny will be unloaded I reckon.

AW’s modus operandi is one in, one out.

Back in February Wenger said Martinez, a big Colombian,  has the right physical strengths: “Hugely efficient, he is the kind of player who can make room for himself in the box. He could play in the Premier League because he has the body to make the difference. He uses it in a very intelligent way. He has a very short back lift and he’s a very good finisher.”

First thing I learned from George Graham was: Never sign a player after he shines in an international tournament. He might be super-patriotic but not do it on a cold night at Goodison.

Colombia’s first game is on Sunday against Venezuela.

The price could go up on Monday.

Maybe that’s what the agent was talking about.

If Jackson Martinez signs from Porto it could mean that Wenger doesn’t plan to stay for another 18 years.
