It’s synchronicity.
My holiday ends as the football season ends.
Watched Spurs 2 Birmingham 1 on Fox Soccer Channel at 9 a.m. and taped Man Utd 4 Blackpool 2 from ESPN. May not see the latter.
Today I see that Fabregas was at the Spanish Grand Prix and the Gooners at Fulham were singing, “Spend some fukcing money !”
The game was 2-2 and Arsenal were never winning.
The old beatnik feels more relaxed than he has done for years. Had time to read and think, seen the South West on an 850-mile road trip to Taos and Santa Fe, and cheered my nephew Derek’s graduation. He did English and Creative Writing.
So I’ve had fun in the USA, as always. And have been able to scribble a few wise pages for my book.
I’m on a plane back to LHR and sea level tonight.
Having written 70% of an interesting ANR piece, I can post that on Friday.
