Arsenal are better than Leicester. But Spurs worry me

From: Atishay : Arsenal/Leicester

Hi Myles,

Like most other readers, I was disappointed with your analysis of the game too.

It seems the media has lost all objectivity when it comes to Leicester City. Anything that doesn’t fit into their narrative is brushed off, ignored.

Despite what has been widely ‘reported’, they were by no means the better side 11v11.

It was an engaging first half, in which Arsenal were just about the better team, but Leicester got lucky and went one goal up.

I watched the analysis on Sky/MOTD and PLTV as well.

Not ONE pundit had the balls to say that Vardy dived. Not one pundit could say he cheated. It was either ‘clever’ or ‘intelligent’ or ‘he had the right to go down’. If it was a foreigner playing for Arsenal who did that, we know what would have happened.

MOTD didn’t even SHOW the replay of Ozil getting fouled in the lead-up to the penalty. And they say Wenger chooses to not see things.

When Ramsey was rolling around on the floor after being hit with Drinkwater’s studs up on his shin, Danny Murphy said he “doesn’t like to see that”. But neither him nor Sherwood could say it was a terrible tackle, or that it deserved a red. Maybe they’re okay with seeing such tackles? All they could say was that Drinkwater “didn’t mean it”.

Yes, Leicester have been absolutely fantastic this season. Yes they aren’t up there by fluke. Yes they gave Arsenal a fantastic game 11v11. But they were leading purely because of luck/cheating, and they went to pieces once Simpson went off.

I’ve loved the Leicester story myself this season, and I love Ranieri too.

But the media needs to stop this agenda, which is gradually becoming nauseating. It’s a fantastic title race which must be enjoyed, but can we avoid going overboard with the romance? Valentine’s Day is over, and Leicester lost that day.

By the way, Myles. My real favourites for the title? Spurs. I am SO worried

Myles says:

Dele Alli wouldn’t get a game for Arsene FC.

He’e  six foot two and scores from 20 yards.

Lord Wenger abandoned power football in 2004 to play Barcelona-lite and win FA Cups.

(The FA Cup is six matches)
