Any news on transfers, Myles?

From Hasan :  No insight on the transfer market ?

Dear Myles,

Most summers you have given us an insight of the goings on, or lack of, in the summer transfer market with regards to Arsenal.

This summer seems to be the most important in Arsenal’s recent history and yet we have heard nothing at all from you.

I can only think of two reasons 1- you are not interested or 2- the real business will begin towards the end of June which is when you will give us your thoughts.

Either way a lot of speculation has been going on regarding Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both seemed to have been signed according to various internet news… as well as the speculation surrounding Hazard, Cahill & Samba. Looking forward to your take on things as I do believe most, if not all, of your readers are dying to read an article from you on the transfer market and whether your sources within the Arsenal have given you the down low on what might be happening.

All the best,

Hasan – Pak Gooner

Myles replies :

Right first time, Hasan.

By now the entire blogosphere knows what I think of Wenger”s last six years.

Fabregas shares my view and I’ve asked Cesc to take me with him.

David Dein held Wenger’s hand when top talent was needed.

When  Fiszman kicked out Dein, Arsenal went downhill rapidly and mutated into something unrecognisable.

As former Arsenal MD Keith Edelman said in a Sunday paper, “Arsene was very cautious and David was very ambitious for the club. He was very good at getting Arsene into a position where he was comfortable spending money.”
