Clockend Lloydie to ANR
show details 7:00 PM (13 hours ago)
Myles,
I have to agree with much of what you said in your article, but I was shocked (I can’t believe I’m saying this) at you referring to Arsene Wenger as ‘pig headed’. You were way out of order.
I always read your pieces and I am always interested in what you say about Kroenke and Gazidis, for example, that they were the prime movers behind the Arshavin purchase. Who knows, now that Kroenke is clearly on his way to taking over at Arsenal and Gazidis declaring that fourth place is not good enough, maybe the chequebook will be taken out and given a good spanking?
Myles, have a Coke and smile and allow yourself to calm down before you write your articles and get some of the less stable of the Arsenal faithful seriously thinking ‘fatwah’ in your direction.
Chill out.
I am grudgingly ‘relieved’ that this happened. It has finally laid bare the folly of Wenger’s policy. I really believe that the clock is ticking for him and if he still has the desire to be back at the top, he will have started work on next season last night when he finished his team talk.
The first thing I want to see is the back of Adebayor.

Lloydie,
Today we are told that chairman Peter Hill-Wood wants to reward failure. He wants to give AW a new contract ! He wants to give Wenger a new contract and money to spend in the summer.
Money that will be spent on French kids and African kids who have potential and for the next four years this vanity project will continue and Wenger will keep saying, “I believe in this group of players.”
Is that what you want? Wobbly, deluded fans will always suck on their comfort blanket, always hold up banners like ARSENE KNOWS.
A 59-year old man will not change his ideas. What evidence do you have that a 59-year old man will change his ideas? By his own admission, he is ridiculously stubborn.
In the meantime, the silence from Gazidis and Fiszman is deafening.
Gazidis thinks 4th isn’t good enough.
But Hill-Wood thinks it is.
Hill-Wood thinks failure should be rewarded.
So the chairman and the CEO are not on the same page.
Arsenal will be 4th in everything forever if they go on like this.
Pat Rice is retiring this summer and will be replaced by another yes-man.
The compliant mainstream media have started to say what I said three years ago.
Don’t get me wrong, what Wenger did from 1996-2004 was fantastic. It was innovative, phenomenal and thrilling.
And it could have been done by no-one else.
And fans who have read The Professor will know that his colossal achievements were described in vivid detail and summed up fairly.
But the August 2008 update contained clear warnings about what has now happened .
