Man United 4 Leicester 1
After 22, Smalling headed in Blind’s left wing corner.
After 37, Lingard gave Mata a lovely little flick that allowed the nimble Spaniard to produce a world class finish for 2-0.
In 40, Blind’s cute short corner was rolled along the line, Mata reacted, Leicester didn’t, so Mata played the ball back across the goalmouth and Rashford stabbed home for 3-0.
Then Pogba got up for a tremendous header from Blind’s corner to make it 4-0 in 41.
My favourite goal was Rashford’s, since I’d backed him to score at any time.
Demarai Gray, on for Vardy at HT, hit a spectacular shot past David De Gea in 59.
Andy King had replaced Mahrez because Ranieri wanted to save the Algerian for Porto on Tuesday night.
Not much happened after Gray’s thunderbolt and the match fizzled out.
Sky’s Alan Smith gave Man of the Match to Paul Pogba, who was close to his imperious best.
A big new asset to United is Eric Bailly, a centreback with a lot of raw power. Bailly is able to match sprinters running the channels, and do everything else superbly as well.
A GREAT SIGNING.
